Eli was born in Taiwan, and is currently based in BC, Canada. Their background is in human pathology and they have done graphic design and illustrative work for medical conferences and journals. They were a guest speaker at the 2021 Toronto Comic Art Festival (TCAF) Panel (“Cells at Work”) and ScreenTones podcast (“Comic Synopses”). Their works have been exhibited at the Vancouver Comic Arts Festival (VanCAF) 2019, CANZINE 2023 and TCAF 2025. They are currently the comic editor for Augur Magazine.As a first generation immigrant and cancer survivor, their stories revolve around lost identities, invisible disabilities and finding balance in a complex world of social responsibilities and cultural expectations. They hope their stories bring joy and inspire interests in science and medicine.eliushi's medical illustration portfolio and research publications are available upon request.
